What is delighting in the lord

Put on your shoes and go. We may feel selfish prioritizing filling our tanks. Yet, God says we can only comfort others, with the comfort we first receive ourselves! Contentment is nurtured with love, not guilt.

We are such strong thinkers, but it leads us to easily ruminate, which means to obsess and worry. Music is used in therapy to help us express hidden emotions. It calms and alleviates pain.

When you feel too stressed to pray, put on a worship song and let God love you. You are good at listening to others, but may find it hard to share your hardships.

Research shows stress and anxiety are reduced and people bounce back sooner resiliency when people share their stories and talk about how they feel when events impact them rather than just describing what happens. Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you.

Yet, his problems got worse. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

You have to choose. Everything in the world—sexual desire, the pursuit of wealth and things, the desire for status and fame—comes from the world. And one day, the world and all its lures will be tossed out like garbage. But whoever chooses the will of God will live forever in contentment. If we place our joy and hope in God first, He will provide for all our needs. Never once has God given me less than what I have asked for, but many times He has given me much more than I even thought to ask for.

The more we come to know God through studying His Word, the more we will trust Him to supply our needs and find contentment in His goodness.

But God does not want you to delight in Him out of duty. Rather, whatever God commands Christians to do, He always provides not only the ability, but also gives us the unction to do it.

And do you know what? God answered that prayer, and He will be faithful to answer yours too. Somehow they have the idea, Of course God loves me. To be honest, I was one of those kids. Even though God transformed my family when my father came to Christ, as a second generation Christian I was unmoved by the transformation. Growing up in the church and attending Christian schools I was apathetic toward the inexpressible love God had for me —— maybe you can relate?

I knew that Jesus shed His precious blood to cleanse me from my sins. Because He is merciful we can stand before Him whiter than snow under the cleansing blood of Christ.

And I stand in awe that He would save a sinner such as I. How about you? Great is thy faithfulness. One way we can express our delight in the Lord is by continually celebrating His past works. Delight through verbal thanksgiving —Thankfulness is a powerful tool to help combat sadness, anxiety, and depression.

Research shows that verbal expressions of gratitude produce a surge of feel-good hormones like dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. The hormones help connect the giver of thanks to the recipient, much like those same hormones create a bond between mother and child. Thanksgiving is a form of worship that redirects our attention away from the temporal and bonds us to the eternal. It is so easy for us to be led astray by the lusts of our flesh, but when we look with eyes of thankfulness, we see that our deepest desires are already being met.

True delight in the Lord is a celebration of all His excellent qualities. Psalm Annette has also written curriculum for character growth and development of elementary-age children and has developed parent training seminars to benefit the community.
